Rich Jun is an aspiring comic book illustrator and a doctor of optometry.
He spent most of his formative years pouring over comic books. He carefully and meticulously copied the likes of Art Adams, John Buscema, John Byrne and Jim Lee. He majored in drawing and painting at Loyola University in Chicago and was awarded scholarships to attend summer classes at the Art Institute of Chicago. After graduation, Rich worked odd jobs but struggled to crack into the art world.
Life had other plans and he went to graduate school to become an eye doctor. He ventured off to New York City for graduate school and loved every minute of it. Rich has spent the last fifteen years treating patients from eye diseases and preventing blindness. All the while, he continued his affair with comic books and action figures.
Rich lives in Madison Wisconsin with his lovely girlfriend and two rescued pit bulls. One day while perusing the mail, they came across a comic book art class. She encouraged him to jump in and everything changed. Rich met his instructor, Jeff Butler, and studied with him for two years. Under Jeff’s tutelage, his aspirations have reignited and was introduced to the legendary Ron Fortier and Airship 27. There, Rich illustrated several books and a few comics.
